Spanish

Spanish class is offered as an extracurricular activity to classes 2 years through Kindergarten. It is instructed by a professional teacher, and parents are responsible for payment.

Curriculum:

Spanish Through Music (ages 2-3)
This program is specially designed for two and three year olds. The children will listen to and sing songs in Spanish along with appropriate gestures and creative movement. Not only are they having lots of fun but singing and listening to Spanish songs gives them an “ear” for Spanish. This also provides pronunciation practice and gets their brains ready to learn a second (or third) language. This class provides a good base for your child as they move on to Intro to Spanish at the Pre-K level.

Intro to Spanish (Pre-K)
Intro to Spanish introduces students to vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation in a fun and meaningful way. We learn through interactive games, songs, gestures, visual aids, manipulatives, crafts, stories and much more. My curriculum also embodies cultural awareness of all Spanish speaking countries including Mexico, Central America, South America, the Caribbean and Spain.

Continuing Spanish (Kindergarten)
Continuing Spanish builds on the foundation learned in the previous classes. We begin with a review of the basics. This allows the children to remember and new students to catch up. I use the same approach as in Intro to Spanish but at a more advanced level. This class is also longer than the earlier classes.
